Saliceto sul Po

Upstream of the confluence of the river Trebbia with the river Po there is a riparian forest, with big white willows and some silver poplars, highlighting the most natural features of the Po river banks near Piacenza, that concerning this stretch are included in the SCI "Fiume Po da Rio Boriacco a Bosco Ospizio". Towards the dry river bed the forest becomes a typical shrubland mainly consisting of olive willows and purple willows, while some groves of reeds colonize the most recent deposits.
