Directions

The nearest highway exit is Parma Ovest if you take the Highway A1, Fornovo Taro if you come from Cisa (A15). You need to follow the directions to Collecchio or Sala Baganza. Carrega Woods lie about fifteen kilometers far from Parma, and also from the capital city they can be easily reached through the state street 62 of Cisa towards Collecchio or Sala Baganza; from these places you only need to follow the directions to the Park.

It is recommended to park your car and reach the access points of the paths on foot. If you come from Collecchio, the suggested parking area is that of Serraglio, at the beginning of the Via del Conventino, where cars are never allowed. From Sala Baganza one takes Via Olma (towards Talignano) and leaves the car in Case nuove; from the car park up to Talignano cars are not allowed from April to October on Sundays in the afternoon.

The Park is equipped with a good road sign system: on the occasion of its 20th anniversary in 2002, an innovative communication project was planned to create a system of information panels able to guide the visitors to discover the territory.
It is not a simple list of road sign panels, but a look from above to the Park leading visitors from the outside up to the the protected area's heart, combining the visual elements with guiding symbols that highlight the different aspects that are worth being observed: an example are the "park's doors", 4-meters-high and 50-cm-large panels placed in the real entrance points of the Park, that through some pictures summarize the territory's history and reality. The project was mentioned in the annual report of the Italian Design Association in 2003.

All the roads of the Park must be covered with caution because it is always possible to meet wandering animals, school groups or people having a walk.
